2F was thrilled (quite an understatement) when they were given one period to engage in addition, subtraction and mental calculation on Wednesday.
Their eyes were glued to their work, their fingers were moving furiously and there was not a single child who was out of his/her seat. They were all focused and intent on getting their Mathematics correctly calculated and I did not even need to dangle any carrot in front of them.
Alas! It was not the teacher who wielded such power, it was purely the magic of the online gaming.
So, from the lips of a truly conservative teacher... I have to admit that some amount of gaming is beneficial for my pupils but CAUTION... only when kept within clearly-defined boundaries and under supervision.
